Bactrocera abdofuscata is a fruit fly within the family Tephritidae. Observations of museum specimens indicate that the species exhibits a characteristic body form typical of the genus Bactrocera. The abdomen displays distinct dark pigmentation, which is a notable feature of this species. The wings are generally hyaline, consistent with many members of the genus, and the thorax shows structural patterns typical of dacine fruit flies.[1]
Bactrocera abdofuscata was originally described by R.A.I. Drew in 1971 under the basionym Dacus abdofuscatus.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted species within the genus Bactrocera.
