This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Specimens of Axinella shoemakeri in the available dataset are preserved museum material (GBIF/Naturalis). The records indicate an erect, branching/tufted sponge growth form typical of Axinella spp. (fine diagnostic features such as surface microsculpture and internal canalization are not recoverable from the limited image metadata available in this workspace).
GBIF lists Axinella shoemakeri (de Laubenfels, 1936) as an accepted species name, and also records the basionym Teichaxinella shoemakeri de Laubenfels, 1936.
