Auxanommatidia is a genus of flies belonging to the family Phoridae.[2] The genus was described by the entomologist Thomas Borgmeier in 1924.[2]
Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of the genus Auxanommatidia exhibit the characteristic body plan of Phoridae, often referred to as hump-backed flies.[1] The specimens display a distinctively arched thorax, which is a hallmark of the family.[1] The wings are typically clear with reduced venation, and the head is relatively small in proportion to the rest of the body.[1]
