This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Austrosciapus minnamurra is a species of long-legged fly within the family Dolichopodidae. Observations of preserved specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset show characteristic features of the genus, including a slender, elongated body form typical of the subfamily Sciapodinae. The specimens exhibit long, thin legs and clear, membranous wings. Due to the nature of the preserved material, finer morphological details such as specific setal patterns or subtle coloration are not clearly resolved in the available imagery.[1]
Austrosciapus minnamurra was described by entomologist Daniel J. Bickel in 1994.[2] It is recognized as an accepted species within the genus Austrosciapus, which is part of the diverse family Dolichopodidae. The species was formally published in the Records of the Australian Museum Supplement, as part of a comprehensive review of the Australian Sciapodinae.
