Austrosciapus connexus, commonly known as the green long-legged fly, is a member of the family Dolichopodidae. Observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset indicate that this species exhibits a metallic, often iridescent green coloration across its body, including the thorax and abdomen.[1] As characteristic of the family, it possesses notably long, slender legs.[1]
Austrosciapus connexus was described by Francis Walker in 1835.[2] It has been documented in association with plants in the genus Convolvulus.[3]
