Austrolimnophila antiqua is a species of crane fly. Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, individuals exhibit the characteristic slender, elongated body form typical of the family Limoniidae.[1] The wings are notably long and narrow, often displaying a distinct pattern of dark spots or markings against a lighter, somewhat translucent membrane. The legs are exceptionally long and fragile in appearance, a common trait among these insects.[1]
Austrolimnophila antiqua was originally described as Limnophila antiqua by F.A.A. Skuse in 1890.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted species within the genus Austrolimnophila.
