This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Australoconops aglaos is a species of thick-headed fly within the family Conopidae. Based on examination of preserved specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, the species exhibits the characteristic slender, wasp-like body form typical of the genus Australoconops.[1] The specimens display distinct abdominal patterning and elongated, slender legs. Due to the nature of the preserved museum specimens, finer morphological details such as specific wing venation patterns or precise setal arrangements are difficult to resolve in the available imagery.[1]
Australoconops aglaos was formally described by M. A. Schneider in 2010 as part of a taxonomic revision of Australian Conopidae.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted species within the genus Australoconops.
