This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Australoberis refugians is a soldier fly characterized by a slender, elongated body form typical of the family Stratiomyidae. Observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset indicate that the species exhibits a metallic or dark-pigmented thorax and abdomen. The wings are generally clear or slightly infuscated, with distinct venation patterns characteristic of the genus. The legs are slender, and the antennae are relatively prominent.[1]
Australoberis refugians was originally described by David W. Miller in 1917 as Beris refugians, as part of his work on the Diptera fauna of New Zealand.[2] It is currently an accepted species within the genus Australoberis.
