This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Based on observations of specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of the genus Australoberis exhibit characteristics typical of the family Stratiomyidae.[1] They are generally slender flies with a distinct, somewhat flattened body shape. The wings are often held flat over the abdomen when at rest. The coloration observed in these specimens includes dark, metallic, or brownish tones, which may provide camouflage in their natural habitats.[1]
