This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Austalis conjucta is a hoverfly characterized by a distinct, striped pattern on its thorax. Observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a thorax featuring longitudinal black stripes against a lighter, yellowish background.[1] The compound eyes are prominent and reddish-brown in color. The abdomen exhibits a banded appearance, typical of many syrphids, with alternating dark and light segments. The wings are clear and membranous, with characteristic venation patterns consistent with the family Syrphidae.[1]
Austalis conjucta was originally described by E.W. Ferguson in 1926 as Eristalis conjuctus.[2]
