This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Based on observations of preserved specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, Aulagromyza orphana exhibits the characteristic morphology of an agromyzid fly.[1] The specimens typically display a small, compact body form with a dark, often brownish or blackish, coloration. The wings are membranous and clear, with distinct venation patterns typical of the family Agromyzidae. The head features prominent compound eyes and relatively short antennae. Due to the nature of the preserved museum specimens, finer morphological details such as specific setal patterns or subtle color variations are difficult to resolve in these images.[1]
Aulagromyza orphana is recognized as a West Palaearctic species.[2] It was originally described by Hendel in 1920 as Phytagromyza orphana.[3]
