This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Based on observations of preserved specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, Aulagromyza discrepans is a small fly characteristic of the family Agromyzidae.[1] The specimens exhibit a compact, robust body form typical of many acalyptrate flies. Key visible traits include a pair of prominent, compound eyes occupying a significant portion of the head, and wings that are generally clear or lightly tinted with distinct venation patterns characteristic of the genus. The thorax and abdomen are typically dark-colored, often appearing brownish or blackish, and may possess fine, sparse setae. Due to the nature of the preserved material, finer morphological details such as specific chaetotaxy or delicate wing structures are difficult to resolve in these images.[1]
Aulagromyza discrepans (Wulp, 1871) is an accepted species within the family Agromyzidae.[2] It was originally described as Agromyza discrepans by Wulp in 1871. The species is classified within the subfamily Phytomyzinae.[3]
