Atylotus horvathi (Szilády, 1926) is a species of horse fly within the family Tabanidae.[2] Its known distribution includes Turkey and Iran.[3] Within Iran, it has been recorded in the Elburz Mountains, Kerman province, and Fars.[3] It is considered an Eastern Mediterranean element of the Iranian tabanid fauna.[3] The male of this species has not been described.[3]
Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, Atylotus horvathi exhibits typical tabanid morphology.[1] The specimens display a robust, fly-like body structure with large, prominent compound eyes characteristic of the family.[1] The coloration is generally muted, consistent with other members of the genus Atylotus.[1]
