This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
The available images of Atrichopogon brunnipes from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset show specimens typical of the family Ceratopogonidae.[1] Due to the nature of these images as museum specimens, fine morphological details are difficult to resolve; however, the specimens exhibit the characteristic small, delicate body form of biting midges, with slender legs and wings that are typically held folded over the abdomen.[1]
Atrichopogon brunnipes (Meigen, 1804) is an accepted species within the family Ceratopogonidae.[2] The species was recorded in northern Sardinia, Italy, during a survey conducted between June and August 2015, where it was collected using black-light traps in the Meilogu and Goceano areas.[3]
