Atrichochira is a genus of bee flies in the family Bombyliidae. It was described by Hesse in 1956.[1]
This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[2]
Based on observations of specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of the genus Atrichochira exhibit typical bee fly morphology.[2] They possess a robust, somewhat hairy body, characteristic of many bombyliids. The wings are often clear or have subtle patterning, and the head features prominent eyes. The overall body coloration tends to be muted, often in shades of brown or grey, which may aid in camouflage.[2]
