Atoniomyia duncani is a species of robber fly. Observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset indicate that the species possesses a slender, elongated body typical of many Asilidae.[1] The thorax and abdomen exhibit a combination of dark and lighter, often yellowish or brownish, coloration. The wings are generally clear or slightly tinted, and the legs are robust, adapted for the predatory lifestyle characteristic of the family.[1]
Atoniomyia duncani was described by Wilcox in 1937.[2] It is also known by the common name "Arizona Micropanther". As a member of the family Asilidae, it is a predatory insect.[3]
