The species Atomosia unicolor is a member of the family Asilidae (robber flies). As with other members of the genus Atomosia, individuals are typically characterized by their robust, often bee-like or wasp-like appearance. Due to the limitations of the available dataset imagery, specific morphological details such as precise wing venation or fine setal patterns cannot be resolved.[1]
Atomosia unicolor was described by the French entomologist Pierre-Justin-Marie Macquart in 1838.[2] It is an accepted species name within the genus Atomosia.
