This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Atomosia puella is a species of robber fly characterized by its compact, robust body form, typical of the genus Atomosia. Observations of specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a dark, often blackish or metallic-hued body, frequently covered with fine, pale or yellowish hairs (setae). The wings are typically clear or slightly smoky, and the legs are often dark with distinct, bristly structures.[1]
Atomosia puella is a species of robber fly (family Asilidae) first described by the entomologist Christian Rudolph Wilhelm Wiedemann in 1828.[2] It is also known by the common name "Common Micropanther". Like other members of the family Asilidae, it is a predatory insect.[3]
