Atomosia glabrata is a species of robber fly. Observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset indicate that these flies typically exhibit a compact, robust body form characteristic of the genus.[1] The thorax and abdomen often display a dark, metallic or blackish coloration, and the body is covered in fine, often pale or yellowish, pubescence.[1]
Atomosia glabrata (Say, 1823) is an accepted species within the family Asilidae.[2] It was originally described by Thomas Say as Laphria glabrata. The species is also known by the vernacular name "Ringed Micropanther".
