The genus Asyncritula is represented in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset by preserved specimens.[2] Due to the nature of these museum specimens, fine morphological details are difficult to resolve from the available imagery. The specimens exhibit the general body plan characteristic of the family Stratiomyidae, including a somewhat flattened abdomen.
The genus was described by Embrik Strand in 1929.[1]
