This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Astochia jayarami is a species of robber fly (family Asilidae) described by Joseph and Parui in 1981.[2] The species was identified as part of a study on Astochia, Promachus, and Saropogon genera from India.[2]
Morphological observations of Astochia jayarami are limited by the availability of high-resolution imagery. As a member of the family Asilidae, it shares the general characteristics of robber flies, which typically include a stout, bristly body, a prominent proboscis adapted for predation, and large, widely separated compound eyes.[1]
