Visual Description
Observed from curated specimen images (preserved museum material). Asteropus albus appears as a light-colored sponge body (pale/whitish to beige), with a firm but irregular encrusting to lobate form. Visible surface texture is coarse, consistent with an encrusting sponge morphology rather than a smooth sheet, with the specimen showing distinct bumps/raised areas where sponge tissue is preserved.
