This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, Asteia montgomeryi is a small fly characteristic of the family Asteiidae.[1] Specimens exhibit a slender body form typical of the genus. The wings are relatively long and clear, extending beyond the tip of the abdomen. The thorax and abdomen show a brownish coloration, with the head featuring prominent, relatively large compound eyes.[1]
Asteia montgomeryi has been documented interacting with Erythrina sandwicensis (Wiliwili), a tree species native to Hawaii.[2]
