Based on observations of preserved specimens, Asteia hawaiiensis exhibits the characteristic small, delicate body form typical of the family Asteiidae.[1] The specimens display a slender thorax and abdomen, with wings that appear relatively large in proportion to the body size.[1] The coloration is generally pale to yellowish-brown, consistent with the appearance of many members of the genus Asteia.[1]
