Asteia aberrans is a small fly characteristic of the family Asteiidae. Observations of preserved specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a slender body form typical of the genus.[1] The specimens exhibit a pale, somewhat translucent appearance, with distinct, relatively large compound eyes occupying a significant portion of the head. The wings are elongated and clear, extending beyond the tip of the abdomen.[1]
Asteia aberrans was described by Hardy and Delfinado in 1980.[2] It is recognized as an accepted species within the genus Asteia.
