This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Asiola fasciata is a species of robber fly (family Asilidae). Observations of specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a slender, elongated body typical of the subfamily Asilinae.[1] The abdomen exhibits distinct transverse banding, characterized by alternating dark and lighter-colored segments, which contributes to its specific epithet, fasciata. The thorax is robust, and the wings are generally clear or slightly tinted, extending along the length of the abdomen.
Asiola fasciata was described by G. Daniels in 1977.[2] It is recognized as an Australian genus within the subfamily Asilinae.
