This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Asiola is a genus of robber flies (family Asilidae) described by Daniels in 1977.[2]
Based on observations of specimens within the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of the genus Asiola exhibit typical asilid morphology, characterized by a robust, elongated body form.[1] The head features prominent, large compound eyes typical of predatory Diptera. The thorax is well-developed, supporting strong wings and legs adapted for their predatory lifestyle. The abdomen is often slender and may display distinct banding or coloration patterns, as seen in species such as Asiola fasciata.[1]
