This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Asiobaccha nubilipennis is a hoverfly characterized by its slender, elongated body form, typical of the tribe Bacchini. Observations of specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a distinct, dark, cloud-like infuscation on the wings, which is a diagnostic feature of this species.[1] The abdomen is notably petiolate, being very narrow at the base and widening towards the posterior end.[1]
Asiobaccha nubilipennis was originally described by Austen in 1893 as Baccha nubilipennis.[2] It has since been reclassified into the genus Asiobaccha.[3]
