Asindulum nigrum is a species of fungus gnat. Based on observations of museum specimens, the insect exhibits a slender, elongated body typical of many members of the family Keroplatidae. The specimens appear dark in coloration, consistent with the specific epithet nigrum. The wings are relatively long and clear, with characteristic venation patterns visible upon close inspection.[1]
The presence of Asindulum nigrum in Slovakia was confirmed based on a specimen collected in the Gemer region (Paseky near Tisovec, Muránska planina National Park) in 2001.[2] Previous records of this species from Slovakia had been considered doubtful.
