Asiconops nobilis is a species of thick-headed fly within the family Conopidae. Based on examination of museum specimen images, the species exhibits characteristic dipteran morphology, including a distinct head, thorax, and abdomen. The specimens display a slender, elongated body form typical of many conopids. Due to the nature of the preserved museum specimens, finer morphological details such as wing venation patterns or specific setal arrangements are not fully resolvable in the available imagery.[1]
Asiconops nobilis was originally described by the entomologist Samuel Wendell Williston in 1892 as Conops nobilis.[2] The species is currently accepted under the genus Asiconops.
