This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Based on observations of museum specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of the genus Anypodetus are robber flies (family Asilidae) that exhibit typical asilid morphology.[1] They possess a robust, elongated body form characteristic of the family. The head features prominent, large compound eyes. The thorax is well-developed, and the wings are often patterned or tinted, as seen in species like A. fascipennis. The legs are strong, adapted for grasping prey.
Anypodetus is a genus within the family Asilidae, specifically placed within the subfamily Laphriinae.[2] The genus was described by Hermann in 1907.[3]
