Anastrepha atrigona is a species of fruit fly within the family Tephritidae. Based on observations of museum specimens, the species exhibits the characteristic body form of the genus Anastrepha, including a distinct, often patterned wing venation typical of tephritid flies. The specimens observed show a generally robust thorax and abdomen, with coloration consistent with other members of the genus, though specific diagnostic patterns are best examined through detailed morphological study.[1]
Anastrepha atrigona is considered to be exclusive to the Amazon region.[2] In Brazil, it has been recorded in the state of Roraima, specifically within the municipalities of Amajari, Boa Vista, and Pacaraima. As of 2017, there were no host plants reported for this species in Roraima.
