This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Anasillomos juergeni is a member of the family Asilidae (robber flies). Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, individuals exhibit the characteristic robust, elongated body form typical of many robber flies.[1] The specimens display a dense covering of setae (hairs) across the thorax and abdomen, which is a common feature in this family for sensory and protective purposes. The wings are typically clear or slightly tinted, extending along the length of the abdomen. The head features prominent, large compound eyes, characteristic of predatory insects that rely on visual hunting.[1]
Anasillomos juergeni was described by Dikow in 2015.[2] Ecological data indicates that this species has been observed in association with dry river bed habitats.[3]
