This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Ametrodiplosis rudimentalis is a species of gall midge within the family Cecidomyiidae. Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, individuals exhibit the characteristic delicate, slender body form typical of many cecidomyiids.[1] The specimens display long, thin legs and wings that are relatively large in proportion to the body, with visible venation patterns consistent with the family's morphology.[1]
Ametrodiplosis rudimentalis was originally described by J. J. Kieffer in 1901 as Clinodiplosis rudimentalis.[2] It is currently an accepted species within the genus Ametrodiplosis.
