Visual Description
Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, Agromyza fission is a small fly characteristic of the family Agromyzidae.[1] The specimens exhibit a dark, generally blackish body coloration. The wings are clear and membranous, with distinct venation typical of the genus Agromyza.[1]
Biology and Distribution
Agromyza fission was described by Eiseman and Lonsdale in 2018.[2] The species was formally described in the publication "New state and host records for Agromyzidae (Diptera) in the United States, with the description of thirty new species." It is recognized as an accepted species within the genus Agromyza.[3]
