Distribution and Ecology
Aenigmatias lubbocki (Verrall, 1877) is a Palaearctic species distributed across Europe and parts of Asia, including China.[2] In Bulgaria, it has been documented in the Central Stara Planina Mountains and on Vitosha Mountain, where specimens were collected using Malaise traps in subalpine and mountain habitats.
The species is known to have parasitic associations with ants, specifically species within the genus Formica, such as Formica fusca and Formica picea.[3]
