Acanthasargus
Acanthasargus is a genus of soldier flies in the family Stratiomyidae.[1] The genus was described by Arthur White in 1914.[1]

Visual Description
Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of the genus Acanthasargus exhibit the characteristic body form of soldier flies. They typically possess a slender, elongated abdomen and a relatively broad thorax. The wings are often clear or lightly tinted, and the legs may show distinct coloration, such as the yellowish legs observed in Acanthasargus flavipes. The eyes in many specimens are large and prominent, occupying a significant portion of the head.
